The State of Missouri Poem
In the heart of the nation, where rivers flow,
There lies a land called Missouri, a beauty to behold.
With prairies wide and forests lush,
This state is a portrait, a masterpiece in brush.
From the mighty Mississippi to the Missouri's flow,
Every bend and curve tells a story we should know.
From Kansas City's skyline that touches the sky,
To St. Louis' arch that seems to fly high.
As the seasons dance, Missouri takes its cue,
With winters cold and summers warm, a picture ever new.
In spring, the dogwood blossoms in delicate white,
And autumn paints a fiery scene with colors bold and bright.
From the Ozark Mountains in the southern part,
To the rolling hills and plains, where horses freely dart.
The land is rich with history, its tales untold,
Of settlers and pioneers, brave and bold.
Missouri, where the sounds of music fill the air,
From jazz in Kansas City to country everywhere.
Legends like Louis Armstrong and Chuck Berry were born,
Their melodies live on, an everlasting adorn.
But beyond the art and landscapes grand,
It's the people that make Missouri a special land.
With their warm heartedness and friendly charm,
They make you feel welcome, safe from harm.
So let us celebrate this state, Missouri's pride,
Its natural wonders, the river’s joyous ride.
With gratitude in our hearts, we raise a toast,
To the beautiful state we love, honor, and boast.
